Red Frogs Schoolies
Thu Mar 9 2006As a major sponsor of Hotel Chaplaincy Australia's volunteer-based program called Red Frogs, Certified Roofing helps provide a support network for Schoolies to protect and educate more than 70,000 school leavers on how to celebrate safely during Schoolies Week. The Red Frogs program:
- Runs high school education seminars across Australia about celebrating safely
- Coordinates 1,200 Hotel Chaplaincy volunteers to support Schoolies
- Reduces arrest rates through high and visible presence of volunteers
- Lowers drug and alcohol abuse through proactive programs and alternatives
- Enlists sporting personalities as volunteer workers and patrons such as Shaun Hart from Brisbane Lions, Jason Stevens from Cronulla Sharks, Steve Kefu from Qld Reds Rugby Union and Scott Minto from Brisbane Broncos
- Refers school leavers to drug and alcohol counselling services
- Mediates problems encountered by hotel managers and Schoolies
